24 HOURS OF LE MANS 2020: Creation of “Hyperpole” for test days

19 - 12 - 2019

Six months before the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest has just unveiled a new format called “Hyperpole”! The objective is to liven the two test evenings up (Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th June) by reintroducing a timed session from the first evening.

Actually, the engaged teams will have to be part of the first six in each category on Wednesday evening to participate in the Hyperpole the next day (6 LMP1 – 6 LMP2 – 6LMGTE PRO and 6 LMGTE Am). Only these 24 competitors will meet during the Thursday time session to determine their position on the starting grid.
